First, I'd like to thank American Equipage for their quick shipping. I have been wearing some Blackhawk Desert Warrior boots, let me tell you, they are very comfortable straight out of the box. Obviously, I will compare the Kiowas to the Desert Warrior boots. Out of the box, the Kiowas looked well made. The soles are marked "Oil and Slip" resistant so that is a big plus since the DW boots are slippery in wet and smooth surfaces. That includes, wet rocks, wet floor, and so on. Once I have put them on, I quickly noticed the snug fit. Like my feet were molded in the insoles. Not having a speed-lace is a minus but I knew that before I placed my order. The eyelets are there but only visible from the inside. Once I got them laced up, I knew these will need some breaking in. The boots are pretty stiff. I will update this review once I got them broken-in.
